BREST EUROPEAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL:
New extra-mural version

In 2021, the Côte Ouest organisation heads out on a new adventure and will be creating an « extra-mural » festival, due to the renovations taking place at the Festival’s usual stomping-ground, Le Quartz, the national theatre in Brest, over the next couple of years.

We are looking forward to seeing you all as usual, but meanwhile, the team is making the most of the situation and coming up with new ways to present the festival event. As the next two editions of the festival will be outside the confines of the theatre, there will be a new programming framework. Audience capacity will be different, however, our determination to present the public with selections of the best short films remains unchanged!

These next two unprecedented festivals will also provide us with the opportunity to refine the selection, as well as our perspective on young European original production, making the 2021 and 2022 festivals focused on young European short film talent, with only debut films and school/study films being requested in all areas of the Festival (except for the Young Audience selection).

So set the dates in your diaries for the 8th to the 13th of November, for a weekful of short films from young European film-makers, along with encounters and cinematic revelations in Brest!

The 37th edition of the Brest European Short Film Festival will take place from November 8 to 13, 2022 with 3 competitions:
> European Competition
> French Competition
> Breton Competition

> First films and school films only
> Genre: fiction films only
> Maximum running time: 30 min
