For its 39th anniversary, the Brest European Short Film Festival returns to Le Quartz, Brest’s Scène nationale! After an online edition and three off-site editions, the Festival returns from November 12 to 17, stronger than ever, to celebrate short films from Europe, France and Brittany!
Every year, the Brest Festival brings together the cream of European short film at the tip of Brittany. This year, with the long-awaited return to the Quartz, the opening night will be all about reunions! The European, French and Brittany Competitions will showcase the best first films and school films, while the legendary Brest off themes will leave us with tears in our eyes, smiles on our faces, chills down our spines and fever in our bodies! An exceptional evening in partnership with France Télévisions will take us from the cinema to the basement of the Vauban for a thunderous live karaoke!
Thanks to the “Création en cour(t)s” programs, which are free and open to the public and professionals alike, the Festival is also a place where emerging filmmakers are supported. For example, the “Un court, un parcours” sessions, a script reading with music in partnership with Films en Bretagne, a Maison du Film session, a restitution of the Les Courts d’Armor writing residency and other surprises will enable you to follow the film debuts of young artists.
As every year, young audiences will not be left out, with a dedicated program to discover with school or family! From kindergarten to post-baccalaureate level, the Festival team is on hand to help teachers create tailor-made programs to introduce students to short films. On Sunday, come and spend the day with your family at the Festival, where short films, production secrets and lots of other surprises await young and old alike.
